Type Locality and Naming

Sanlichong in Shaanxi Province. Named by Wang Guolian and Sun Xiufang, 1973, Acta Geologica Sinica, 47(2):137-178.


Lithology and Thickness

Implied by the Shimenya Fm to be similar grey thick-bedded and massive bio-micrites with corals of a carbonate platform.

Lower contact

Conformable on underlying YangshanShaanxi Fm (Carboniferous)

Upper contact

Conformable contact with the bioclastic limestone of the overlying Shimenya Fm, with no distinct lithostratigraphic salient features being able to be used to differentiate them from one another.
